Description
Shield House is a late 18th century house with a forward addition from the mid 19th century. The walls are made of brickwork in Flemish bond, featuring blue headers, cambered blue brick arches, and brick dentil eaves. The front part has a slate roof, while the rear is covered with tiles. The gabled east front has three storeys, arranged as one window above two windows above one window, and includes cast-iron 'Tudor' casements. There is a plain doorway on the south side. On the north side, a wall connects two piers, with a low wall curving forward in front of the inner pier to meet a lower pier. The south side features a high boundary wall with a gateway entrance that curves down to a lower pier, and the space between the two lower piers is filled with a plain wrought-iron rail that stands on a low brick wall.
