Description
This building, known as Taylor Tredre and Wellar Eggar, is located on the west side of High Street in Bishops Waltham. It dates from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The front wall is finished in stucco and has a tiled roof. The east elevation is symmetrical, featuring two storeys with three windows, which are Victorian sashes. On the ground floor, there are two late 19th-century double-fronted shopfronts.
At the rear of the building, which faces Brook Street, there are several additions that create a complex roofline, indicating different phases of construction. The walls are made of painted brickwork, and the south side gable displays exposed framing, with some tile-hanging on a staircase wing. The roofing includes a combination of gable, half-hip, and hipped sections at a higher level, along with gabled and hipped dormers, showcasing vernacular architectural details.
