Barn At Burntwood Farm 50 Metres North Of House

This is a barn located at Burntwood Farm, 50 meters north of the house, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame that is mainly encased in brick and flint walling, with some parts weatherboarded. The roof has tiles on the front and asbestos sheets on the rear face. The structure consists of two 5-bay barns, with the 17th-century barn on the right. Each barn has double doors in the center bay. In front of the right bay, there is a low cottage, while the next bay has weatherboarding. The bays between the doors are made of flint walling, and there is a 19th-century flint outshot shed with an asbestos roof in front. The left bay has an early 19th-century stable block in front, and the next bay is constructed of brick. The roof is hipped. Inside, the 17th-century barn features an aisled design with a queen post roof, curved braces to the aisle plate and ties, and some windbraces. The 18th-century barn has a queen strut roof with straight braces.
