Description

This barn, located at Sole Hill Farm, is likely from the 18th century. It features weatherboarding above a red brick base and a roof covered with corrugated tin sheeting. The barn has four bays and includes queen post trusses with diminishing rafters on the left side of the threshing bay. On the right side, there is an inserted floor and a hayloft door in the gable end. This small-scale barn is typical of its type and incorporates re-used timber elements, which may have originated from the nearby farmhouse when its 17th-century structure was remodeled in the 18th century. The barn has group value with Sole Hill Farmhouse.
