Description

This barn, located approximately 25 yards southeast of Hill Green Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, featuring a half-hipped corrugated iron roof at both ends. Inside, the barn consists of five bays with a central midstrey. The roof structure includes clasped purlins and straight queen-struts supporting the rafters. The posts have sharply-cut jowls and are complemented by slightly curved braces connecting to the tie-beams and arcade plates. The barn is listed for its group value with the surrounding buildings.
