Description
Dean Cottage is a house that reflects two different periods of construction. The original part, built in the 17th century, features a timber-framed structure, while the western half was added in the 20th century. The front of the house, facing south, has one storey and an attic, with two and a half windows. The thatched roof is half-hipped and includes eyebrow dormers. The rear of the building, which is the older section, has exposed framing, and the upper part of the east gable and front also displays this framing, combined with brick and flint infilling. The lower part of the walls is made of flint and is panelled in the later addition, featuring brick quoins, bands, and a plinth. There are casement windows, including two small splayed bows. A rustic porch, added in the 20th century, has a thatched roof. At the north-west corner, there is a boarded tower topped with a hipped tile roof.
