Description

Cheyney Cottage is a house dated 1708, featuring flint and brick cladding over an earlier timber frame and a thatched roof. The building has one storey and an attic with three windows. It has a hipped roof, and the eaves are raised above the upper windows. The walls are made of coursed knapped flint with brick quoins, thin bands, and rubbed flat arches, one of which has a stone key, along with a plinth. The windows are casements, and there is a 20th-century glazed porch. Inside, there is a massive chimney breast and a fragment of the timber frame, with the later date inscribed on a post.
