Description

Meadow Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with late 18th century features and late 20th century additions. It is a timber-framed building, marked with the date 1686, and has later cladding made of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with four windows above three. The roof is half-hipped at the west end, exposing the frame in the gable, and gabled at the east, featuring eyebrow dormers and a slate catslide at the rear. The flint walls are accented with brick quoins, cambered arches, and a step leading to the plinth. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door located beneath a thatched hood supported by rustic posts. There are single-storeyed late 20th century extensions set back at each end of the building.
