Description
Poplar's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refaced and extended in the late 18th century. It is a timber-framed building that features late 18th-century cladding and an equally sized late 18th-century extension. The materials include flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. The house has two storeys and a half-hipped roof, with a catslide on the older northern side and a hipped end on the western side that has low eaves. There are two eyebrow windows above half-dormers on the southern side. The walls of the 17th-century section are made of flint with brick dressings, while the late 18th-century part showcases a regular pattern of flint panels within a brick framework, including cambered openings on the ground floor. The windows are casements, and there is a plain doorway on the south elevation, which is sheltered by a thatched hood.
