Description

This is a late 18th-century cottage located in Vernham Dean. The building is constructed of brick and flint, with a thatched roof. The south front is symmetrical, featuring a 1-storey and attic design with a 1-window arrangement over 2. A hipped gable faces the roadway, with the upper portion of the front wall tile-hung above a brick wall in Flemish bond. The window openings are cambered. There are casement windows. A former central doorway has been replaced with a window and features a thatched hood supported by rustic posts, with curving soffits faced with a decorative board below trelliswork. A 20th-century glazed porch provides the current side entrance. The side walls are of flint with brick dressings.
