Description
The Old Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 17th century, featuring a timber frame with 18th-century cladding and a thatched roof. There is a 19th-century addition at the rear made of flint and brick, which has a tile roof and was further extended in the later 20th century in a similar style. The original part of the house has one storey and an attic, positioned at right angles to the roadway, and has two windows. The later addition is two storeys high. The half-hipped thatch roof has eaves that are raised above the upper windows, while the tile roof features brick dentil eaves. The walls are constructed of flint with red brick dressings and bands, with the later section having narrow horizontal panels, cambered arches, and a plinth. The gable and north side display exposed brick-nogged framing. The windows are casements. The entrance in the later part is plain, featuring a tiled hood supported by posts, while the original central door of the old part has been replaced with a window. There is a single-storey outshot along the north side, which has a shingle roof and brick walls.
