Description

Yew Tree Cottages, consisting of Nos. 1 and 2, are a pair of early 19th-century cottages located on Main Street in Ibthorpe, Hurstbourne Tarrant. The cottages are timber-framed and feature a roof made of diagonal cement slates. They are narrow with a wide front, standing two storeys tall and containing four windows. The exposed box frame is complemented by painted brick infill and a cement plinth. The windows are casements, and the doors are boarded and set in plain frames. At the west end, there is a 20th-century boarded outshot that serves as a garage. The rear of No. 1 has been partially reclad in flint with brick quoins and thin bands, while the ground floor of No. 2 is rendered.
