Description

Swift Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with 20th-century extensions. It is constructed of flint and brick, featuring thatch and tile roofing. The building has one storey and an attic, with two windows. The roof is half-hipped and includes eyebrow dormers. The north end shows partial exposure of the timber-frame, which has a jettied first floor that is tile-hung with fishscale tiles. The other walls are made of flint with brick dressings, which are now painted. There is a former doorway in the roadside gable that has been blocked. The windows are casements, with some old leaded lights in the dormers. The entrance features a boarded door. At the rear, there are lower narrow extensions with a tile roof and painted brick walls.
