Description

Edrup is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, located on Main Street in Ibthorpe, Hurstbourne Tarrant. It is a timber-framed house that has later cladding made of flint and thatch. The cottage is two storeys high and features two windows. It has a half-hipped roof with a catslide at the rear, and the eaves are raised above the upper windows. The east gable displays an exposed frame in the upper part and has a tapered brick stack. The front wall consists of regular horizontal flint panels set within a red brick framework. The windows are casements, and there is a four-panelled door situated within a late 19th-century half-glazed porch. Above the entrance, there is a stone plaque inscribed with "IMD 1774."
