Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 50 meters northeast of Manor Farmhouse in East Tytherley. The barn is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, sitting on a brick plinth, and features an old plain tile roof. It has five bays and is aisled, with gabled midstray porches at the center of both sides. At one end, there is a 20th-century grain silo mounted on steel posts, while the other end has a 19th-century brick range. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, the barn has a Queen-strut roof with straight braces connecting to the tiebeams and aisleplates. There is a tie from the top of the wall to the post, with a strut connecting to the junction of the rafter and lower purlin. Currently, the barn is filled with 20th-century grain processing machinery.
