Description
Nos 11 and 12 are a farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages. Originally built in the 16th century, it features a crosswing and was extended in the 17th century, with renovations in the 18th century and some later minor extensions. The upper walls display exposed framing with pointed brick infill and slate-hung gables, while the lower walls are encased in painted brick. The roof is covered with old plain tiles. The building has three bays, is now one and a half storeys tall, and includes a two-storey cross-wing at one end. A 17th-century bay was added to the other end, along with a staircase wing at the rear. The rear also features 18th-century encasing and lean-tos. The front of the building has a plinth, a door located under an open gabled porch supported by timber pillars, and a half-glazed door within a corrugated-iron porch. There are four casement windows and an approximately central shafted stack. One end has an ornamental 19th-century bargeboard, while the other end has a wing at the rear with a hipped roof, similar to the stair wing, and the rest of the rear has an outshot.
