Description

Walnut Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located in Chilworth Old Village, that has been altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with brick infill, and has been refronted with painted brickwork. The roof is of old plain tiles, with a 20th-century brick and pantile wing. The cottage is 1 1/2 storeys high and has two bays, with a 20th-century wing added to one end. It features plain doorways, irregular casement windows with cambered openings, and a gabled dormer. One end of the roof is half-hipped, the other is hipped. A shafted stack is present.
