Description

Beehive Cottage is one of a pair of lodges built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with attached rustic timber trunks and features a thatched roof. The building is a circular pavilion with two storeys. It has eight rustic tree trunks that reach full height, with alternating bays containing full-height arched panels and openings for four upper windows. The ground floor includes two windows and two doorways, featuring cast-iron leaded casements and half-glazed doors. The wide eaves rest on stone block caps atop the tree trunks, which are set on a brick base. The roof is beehive-shaped and topped with a small brick stack. On the side away from the drive, there is a single-storey wing with a low-pitched corrugated iron roof and boarded walls.
