Description

Nos 34 and 35 are former farmhouses that have been converted into two cottages, with an attached farm building. Originally built in the late 17th century, they were converted and extended in the 19th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with quoins, partly covered in roughcast, and feature a stone slate roof with restored stone stacks. The original layout was 'L'-shaped, with a cross wing creating a large gable at the front, and an extension at the rear of the cross wing, alongside a farm building that was likely accessed through a passage.

The cottages are two storeys high with an attic. On the east front, there is a large gable on the left side that has a 2-light stone window, which has been replaced by a 20th-century metal casement, although the stone dripmould remains. To the right, there is a stone mullion window with a square hoodmould and leaded casements, a 3-light window below it, and 2-light windows on the right-hand return and rear, the latter of which is blocked. The ground floor window on the left has also been replaced but retains part of the stone dripmould. The left-hand return features 2 and 3-light cavetto moulded stone mullions with dripmoulds.

The door to No 34 is centrally located on the east side and is of 19th-century design with a gabled timber porch. The door to No 35 is on the left-hand return and has a stone porch. The attached farm building has a low-level double entry with a timber lintel on the east side, along with scattered small square openings and a door leading up steps to the east, all featuring timber lintels.
