Description

The Crook and Shears Public House is a public house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features rendered walls and a thatched roof. The front, facing east, consists of two sections: the southern part is two storeys high with two windows, while the northern part has one storey and an attic, also with two windows. The roof is half-hipped and has two levels, showcasing an exposed frame from the 18th century in the upper south gable and a 17th-century exposed frame in the north gable, which includes eyebrow dormers on the north side. The walls are plain and sit on a plinth, with the north gable displaying exposed framing; the north side wall has been thickened in front of this frame. The building has casement windows and plain doorways, with lower wings extending to the rear on each side.
