Description

These two cottages, part of a row of three, date back to the 17th century, though they were later re-clad in the 18th century. The cottages are constructed of brick with a thatched roof. They are arranged as one storey and an attic, with two windows each. The roof is hipped at the north end, and the eaves are raised above the upper windows while being lowered in the centre to cover a projection. The walls are built in a Flemish bond pattern, using blue bricks as headers. The ground floor windows are arched, and contain casements. The doorways are plain. The north gable displays exposed timber framing in its upper part, with flintwork below.
