CASTLE STREET 1. 5231 (West Side) Portchester No 153 (Vine Cottage) SU 6204 11/226 II GV 2. Early C19. Red brick facade, wide eaves. Hipped, old tiled roof. 2 storeys, 2 windows, sashes with boxed frames and glazing bars, ground floor windows with cambered head linings. Centre door also cambered head lining and simple moulded architrave. Nos 153 to 157 (odd), the street boundery wall at No 153 the former barn to south of No 157 Nelson Cottages and No 158 form a group. (No 157 and Nelson Cottages are buildings of local interest.)
