Description

No. 155 Castle Street is a building likely constructed in the early 17th century, probably timber framed. The street-facing side is rendered and features an old tiled roof with two gables. It has one and a half storeys, with one window in each gable. The windows are 18th or early 19th century casements, and the ground floor windows have plain wooden dripboards supported by brackets. The entrance is a plain centre plank door, which also has a similar dripboard above. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 153 to 157, the street boundary wall at No. 153, the former barn south of No. 157, Nelson Cottages, and No. 158. Nos. 157 and Nelson Cottages are noted as buildings of local interest.
