Description

The former barn to the south of No 157 on Castle Street is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is a long red brick structure that extends along the street frontage and features a hipped old tiled roof. The original street doors have been blocked up. This barn is significant for maintaining the continuity of the street scene. It is part of a group that includes Nos 153 to 157 (odd), the street boundary wall at No 153, the former barn, Nelson Cottages, and No 158. Both No 157 and Nelson Cottages are considered buildings of local interest.
