Description

The ice house, dating from the 18th to early 19th century, is located approximately 25 metres east of Garden Cottage in Winslade, Hackwood Park. It is constructed of pink brick and covered by earth, featuring a circular domed chamber beneath the earth mound. The entrance tunnel is positioned on the north side and is vaulted with a round-arched entrance. There is a second ice house to the west. This structure is a well-preserved example of its kind and is one of a pair.
