Description
Mill House is an early 19th-century building that was later extended in the 19th century. It is a two-storey symmetrical block that has been expanded eastwards and northwards, with the northern extension being taller. The original south facade features eastward additions from two different periods, all designed in a similar style, with three windows across the front. The house has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with coved plastered eaves above a decorative moulding. The walls are made of red brick laid in Flemish bond, with some blue headers, and feature rubbed flat arches at the ground floor. The eastern sections of the wall are constructed in English bond, and there are stone cills and a plinth. The windows are sash style with 16 panes set in reveals. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door within solid frames, topped by an open gabled canopy supported by carved brackets. The north facade, which is a later addition, is also symmetrical and has two windows, with lower French openings that are three lights wide. On the west side, there is a late 19th-century solid brick porch that features a simple cornice and pilaster treatment in brickwork, along with an arched opening.
