Description

This icehouse, dating from the 19th century, is located approximately 20 yards northeast of the stable block in Henbury Park. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a corridor leading to a circular sunken chamber at the end. The entrance front has a central semi-circular archway with a 20th-century wrought iron gate, flanked by short retaining walls with a brick overthrow. Inside, the corridor is barrel-vaulted and has a stone flag floor. The circular ice chamber has a domed roof and a dished floor with a circular drain at the center.
