Description

This icehouse, located approximately 40 yards east of Capesthorne Hall, dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red English garden wall bond brick and features a circular domed chamber. The entrance front has a cambered arch with retaining walls on either side, which were rebuilt in the 20th century. Inside, there is a short barrel vaulted passage that leads to a rectangular entrance to the chamber.
