Description

The bridge across the lake at Capesthorne Hall, built around 1843, is constructed from red English garden wall bond brick with stone dressings. It features five segmental arches supported by abutments at the banks. The arches are adorned with rusticated voussoirs and keystones that connect to a continuous string course beneath the parapet. There is a hood-mould above the voussoirs, and brick pilaster buttresses are positioned between the arches. The bridge is finished with a stone balustrade that has square piers above the pilaster buttresses.
