Description

Roadside Cottage and Roadside House are a group of two cottages dating from the early 18th century. They feature colourwashed Flemish bond brickwork and a thatched roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have a road-facing front with seven bays. There are doors located in the first and sixth bays from the left, and the windows are mostly 2-light casements, except for the fourth bay, which has a 3-light window. Inside, the parlours have ceiling beams, and the roof structure includes two purlins and a ridge that supports numerous slender rafters.
