Description
The School House is a schoolhouse built around 1860. It features red Flemish bond brick and a slate roof, rising three storeys with single storey classroom wings on either side. The entrance front has a central doorway with a four-centred arch set in a deep, faceted reveal, topped with a heavy hood-mould that extends over two single light Tudor-headed windows, one on each side. There is a string course between the floors. The first floor has a four-light window with a stone surround, mullions, and Tudor-headed lights, while the second floor has a window of three Tudor lights under a heavy hood-mould. Above this is a gable. The single storey additions to the left and right each have three windows of three lights, with two-light windows at their gable ends and single-light windows to the gables, which feature moulded bargeboards supported on brackets and finials.
