Description
The stable building at The Kennels dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of orange Flemish bond brick with black headers and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and the entrance front consists of seven bays. There is a plank door located in the second bay from the right, which has a cambered splayed head with a brick tympanum. On either side of this door are 18th-century Gothick Y-tracery pointed casement windows. To the left, there are four 20th-century windows, each with 4 x 5 panes of varying sizes, also featuring cambered splayed heads and brick tympana. A door is located at the extreme left under a similar head. The first floor includes a series of vertical breathers with 20th-century glazing.
