Description

SU 55 NW KINGSCLERE 8/26 Knowl Farmhouse GV II

C17, C18, early and late C19. A timber-framed house with later extensions, forming an L-shaped block; one-and-a-half storeys, irregular fenestration. Half-hipped tile roofing; prominent stacks, one rising from an old massive base once attached to the frame. Red brick walling in Flemish bond, cambered ground-floor openings; a small section of exposed framework. Casement.s Recent open porch. The oldest part is exposed within. The outermost part of the block is single-storeyed, incorporating the remains of a cartshed.
