Description

Hillview Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century to the early 19th century. They are positioned at right angles to the road and have a later extension at the south end. The cottages are one storey with an attic and feature irregular window arrangements. The thatched roof is hipped at the south end and half-hipped at the north end, with eyebrow dormers and a catslide at the rear that ends in corrugated iron. The cottages have an exposed timber frame with brick infill, primarily arranged in narrow horizontal bands that alternate with flint. There are flint panels incorporated into the brick walling in other areas. The windows consist of casements and one sash, while the doorways are plain and located in open porches.
