Description

The dovecot, located 30 yards west of Sydmonton Court, dates from the 17th and 19th centuries. It is a large square structure topped with a pyramid tile roof and features a four-sided turret. The walls are made of stone rubble, with repairs in brickwork on the west side. Inside, the square space is lined with pigeon holes created from brickwork. The wooden turret has plain arched openings and is also covered with a pyramid tiled roof. On the south side, there is a later brick and tile outshot that includes a central entrance leading into the interior.
