Description
No. 42 George Street is an early to mid-19th century building that is stuccoed and stands three storeys tall. It is two bays wide. On the ground floor, there are three round-headed doorways with impost moulds, and between them are two modern display windows set in a recess that extends to the first floor. The first floor features two three-light sash windows with glazing bars and thin pilasters, but the entablature above has been removed. The second floor is pilastered and rusticated, with two large sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded architraves, topped with a cornice on console brackets. The building is crowned with an entablature that has a dentilled cornice and a parapet. All listed buildings on George Street are part of a group.
