Description
36 and 37 George Street is a pair of buildings located on the south side of George Street. The right-hand building dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is a small, narrow, weatherboarded structure with three storeys and a hipped tiled roof. It features one window wide, with a sash window with glazing bars on the second floor, a canted bay of sashes on the first floor, and a small projecting shop window on the ground floor, likely from the late 19th century. The left-hand building is set back and also weatherboarded. Originally, it was probably three storeys but has been reduced to two storeys with a flat roof. It has a canted bay on the first floor and a ground floor that likely features a Victorian small shop front with a canted bay and a later projecting porch on the right. All the listed buildings in George Street form a group.
