Description

This is an early to mid-19th century stucco-fronted house located in High Wickham. It is two storeys high and features a parapet and cornice, along with a band at floor level. The front facade has a single window with sash windows lacking glazing bars. The windows are topped with lintels and have cills supported by small brackets, with modern louvred shutters. A modern door is situated on the right-hand side, featuring a semi-circular fanlight without glazing bars. A plaque commemorates George Mogridge (1787-1854), who wrote under the pseudonym "Old Humphrey" and lived at this address. Numbers 3 to 18, inclusive, form a group, with numbers 4, 5, 15, 16, 17, and 18 considered to be of local interest only.
