Description

This is a late 18th-century building on the south side of Wine Street. It is three storeys high and has a stucco-faced exterior. A shallow moulded string course runs below the parapet, which has a heavier moulded coping detail. There are two widely spaced windows on the second floor, two similar windows on the first floor, and a large, full-height window in the centre of the first floor. The windows are sash windows with intact glazing bars, set within flush architrave surrounds and thin block sills. The building is set back from number 2 Wine Street but the mid-19th century shop front on the right is brought forward to be level with it. The shop front features panelled pilasters, a deep fascia, and a cornice. Numbers 1 to 4 Wine Street form a notable group.
