Description
Patch Cottage likely dates to the 16th or 17th century. The ground floor is of colour-washed brick, while the first floor is plastered. A string course runs along the elevation. The roof has boxed eaves. There are two windows on the first floor, which are early 19th-century casements with two panes of glass and slender sills. The window frames are flush and thin. A trace of timber framing is visible below the sill of the right-hand ground-floor window. The central entrance is an early 19th-century recessed door of four flush panels, set within shallow stepped reveals and a plain surround, topped with a bracketed hood. To the right of the front door is a timber-framed canted bay with brick infilling and a hipped slate roof. A door within the bay has a plain surround and consists of two panels above and planked panels below.
