Description
No. 12 High Wickham is a building dating from around 1830. It has a rendered front and a brick structure topped with a tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high, with an attic and a semi-basement, and features three windows. At the top, there is a parapet with a central pediment, and an additional section has been added to the right of the pediment. In the middle of the tympanum of the pediment, there is a circular moulding that contains a fixed round window. The windows are set in moulded architrave surrounds with cornices above, although the sashes with glazing bars are missing. The first-floor windows are adorned with ornate cast iron balconies supported by iron brackets. The central doorway is elevated by seven steps and features a handrail. It is framed by pilasters and an open pediment, with a semi-circular fanlight above and a door consisting of six flush panels.
No. 12 is part of a group that includes Nos 3 to 18, with Windycroft, although only Nos 4, 5, 15, 16, 17, and 18 are of local interest.
