Description
No. 13 High Wickham is a building dating from around 1830. It has a stuccoed exterior with a cornice and parapet, and a slate roof. The structure features two flat-roofed dormers that contain sash windows with glazing bars. The building is two storeys high, with an attic and a semi-basement, and has two windows on the front. The first-floor windows are set within moulded architraves. All the sash windows have missing glazing bars.
Access to the right-hand doorway is up seven steps, which have a handrail with turned newels. The doorway itself is flanked by pilasters and topped with an open pediment. It has a blocked semi-circular fanlight and a door made up of six fielded panels, with the top two panels cut away and glazed, while the bottom two panels are flush. There is also one basement sash window with glazing bars and a flush-panelled door.
No. 13 is part of a group that includes Nos. 3 to 18, with Windycroft, although Nos. 4, 5, 15, 16, 17, and 18 are of local interest only.
