Description

Minnis Rock is a detached villa built around 1835 by Joseph Kay. It is constructed of red brick and features a low-pitched slate roof. The building has one storey and an attic, designed on a square plan with wide gables on each front. The south elevation is stuccoed and includes an Ionic portico with a pediment, which has paired end pilasters. Behind the portico are two large sash windows with vertical glazing bars and a central panelled door. The pediment also contains a modern casement window set within a moulded architrave. A massive central chimney stack, which is also stuccoed, has panelled sides and a cornice, contributing to the villa's interesting design.
