Description

This is an 18th-century building, comprising two properties at 55 and 57 High Street. The front is painted and engraved stucco, with quoins at the sides and in the centre. It is three storeys high, with five sash windows. The windows have channelled lintels, and those in number 55 are decorated with keyblocks. A blocked window is located at the centre of the first and second storeys. The building features a parapet and a hipped tile roof. Modern shop fronts have been installed. Numbers 45 to 51 (odd) and the railings and lamp standards of number 51, together with numbers 55 to 69 (odd), form a group.
