Description

The Star Hotel, located at 66 High Street, is an early 18th-century building, with its core likely dating even earlier. It features a brick façade covered in stucco and stands two storeys tall on a stone plinth. The front has five sash windows and a gabled feature at the center topped with a ball-head finial. To the left, there is a projecting hipped wing with five storeys and two windows. The building is characterized by long and short chamfered quoins. The entrance has a moulded pilaster doorcase with sidelights, a radial fanlight that includes a figure-head keyblock, and a modern divided door. The Star Hotel is part of a group that includes Nos 58 to 66 (even) and a former barn at the rear of No 66.
