Description

The structure is a part of the Town Wall located in Winding Street and at the rear of the flats known as Hastings Wall on East Street. It was built in the late 14th century to protect the town from the French. Currently, only very limited remains are visible due to demolition. The site is scheduled as an ancient monument.
