Description

This cottage, located in the garden adjoining No. 40 Reading Road, dates from the late 16th century and was altered in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and an old tile gabled roof. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of three framed bays and is 1½ storeys high. There is one central chimney on the ridge, along with two tall chimneys at the rear. The east front includes a large garage opening on the left, a planked entrance door in the center, and two small window openings at the upper level to the right of the center.
