Description
The dwarf garden wall and gate piers in front of the police station at Nos. 2-10 Rectory Road were built in the early 20th century. The wall is approximately 2 feet high and features a semi-circular brick coping. It has square gate piers topped with pyramidal squint brick. The wall consists of four bays facing Rectory Road and returns northwest, stepping up to about 2 metres high due to the rising ground. It has a similar top with a semi-circular brick creasing course. On the left side, the dwarf wall curves continuously in a semi-circular shape towards Milton Road and includes two gate piers that face Milton Road. These gate piers support three wrought iron gates, which likely date from a later period, each adorned with three scroll panels, all positioned to the right of the station entrance.
