Description
The barn at Kimbers Farm is a small structure dating from the late 16th century, with an extension added in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof that is gabled on the left side and half-hipped on the right. The barn has a rectangular plan consisting of three framed bays, with an additional bay extension on the left end. The east front includes two small windows with glazing bars flanking a central plank door. Inside, the barn showcases a good quality timber frame, with queen strut roof trusses and rafters that are pegged to clasped purlins. It also has jowled posts, along with curved wind braces and kneelers.
