Description
Fifield Farm Cottage is a cottage that has been converted into a house, originally built in the late 17th century and altered and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure features a combination of part timber frame with painted brick infill and part painted brick. The oldest section has a hipped roof covered with old tiles, while the newer parts have gabled roofs. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of two cells with extensions on each side, with sections that are two storeys and one storey high. There are two tall chimneys and one ridge chimney. The windows are modern casements.
On the entrance front, which faces east, the central section reveals exposed timber framing on the first floor, showcasing thin timbers. There are two windows on each floor. To the left, there is a long single-storey section with three small windows and a plain door topped with a small pent hood. To the right, there is a one-and-a-half-storey section featuring a small gabled roof dormer with a two-light window; the ground floor includes a garden door on the left and a two-light window on the right.
